INTERSPORE
Modelling the dynamics of Bacillus spore/material interactions
Context
Some bacteria can take the form of (sporulating) spores, which present remarkable resistance characteristics: they can survive for several thousands of years, even under unfavorable conditions, and thus allow the dispersal of the species, sometimes at a great distance from its point of origin, or long after the disappearance of the “parent”.
Objective
Responding to the lack of tools to quantify the forces of bacterial/material interactions and the lack of knowledge on the complexity of the bacterium.
About the <strong>project </strong>
The project then proposes to apply these results to the bacterium L.monocytogenes (a pathogenic bacterium transmissible to humans mainly through food).
