Summary note: Optimizing refrigeration consumption
On January 9, nearly forty participants gathered for a morning dedicated to a major challenge for industrial companies: optimizing refrigeration consumption. This inherently costly expense depends on both climatic conditions and electricity prices, and directly impacts competitiveness, particularly in the aquatic products sector, where refrigeration is crucial for product quality, safety, and preservation.
Despite the importance of this challenge, refrigeration systems are often poorly controlled over time: consumption measurements are limited, initial settings are rarely adjusted after commissioning, and performance drifts go unnoticed.
Adding to this are:
A challenging climatic context, with rising temperatures and more frequent heatwaves.
A strengthened regulatory framework, requiring a reduced environmental footprint, control of energy consumption, and stricter monitoring of refrigerants.
This meeting provided an opportunity to:
Identify levers for energy optimization and refrigeration consumption.
Share concrete feedback on facility operation.
Exchange directly with industry stakeholders to explore sustainable and effective solutions together.
