Supported by the Hauts-de-France Region and the AQUIMER Cluster, the HISSEZ HAUTS brand relies on the mobilization of field stakeholders—fishermen, aquaculturists, and processors—to sustainably structure a sector of excellence that is innovative and value-creating.
The Brand’s Objectives
- Promote regional expertise: hand filleting, traditional smoking, bouchot mussel farming, or family-run fish farms.
- Promote local and ultra-fresh products, guarantees of quality, traceability, and proximity.
- Strengthen the attractiveness of trades, particularly among younger generations.
- Encourage innovation and ecological transition through initiatives such as aquaponics, vessel decarbonization, or seaweed farming.
- Support a sustainable and inclusive blue economy for the benefit of regions and their residents.
An Ambitious Regional Action Plan (2023–2027)
The launch of Hissez-Hauts is part of a comprehensive regional action plan deployed over the 2023–2027 period, with a clear objective: to support the growth of the aquatic products sector in Hauts-de-France.
This plan reflects a strong political commitment, backed by concrete resources, to sustainably transform the sector and make Hauts-de-France a national and European reference for the blue economy. Three major priorities structure this action plan:
1. Better Promote Aquatic Products
- Creation of a unifying regional brand: Hissez-Hauts,
- Promotion of quality labels,
- Increased presence of products in collective catering,
- Sector engagement through targeted communication campaigns.
2. Accelerate Ecological Transition
- Experimentation with solutions to reduce carbon footprint: biofuels, renewable energy, sustainable packaging,
- Support for aquaponics, seaweed farming, and innovative projects,
- Valorization of co-products from fishing and aquaculture.
3. Strengthen Trade Attractiveness and Business Support
- Funding for training and initiatives to improve the image of trades among young people,
- Facilitation of new professional installations,
- Administrative simplification to encourage projects and access to aquaculture.
4. Significant Resources to Transform the Sector
- €8 to €10 million in investments, thanks to joint support from the Region and European EMFAF funds (2021–2027);
- A dedicated regional innovation desk to support the most promising projects;
- Calls for projects and targeted measures to promote modernization, sustainability, and business competitiveness.
