Marine and coastal research in the Opal Coast: from environments to resources, uses and quality of aquatic products
Context
Sustainable development is everyone’s business and the scale of the task requires a general awareness. Moving towards sustainable development requires us to change our production and consumption patterns. Consumers and businesses have a common responsibility in this respect and the role of the latter is inescapable.
Objective
Studying of the marine environment, its resources and the quality of aquatic products within the framework of a regional dynamic integrating environmental impact.
About the <strong>project </strong>
The MARCO project is part of the scientific project of the GIS Campus de la Mer. The aim of this project is to allow, in the long term, for definition of all the parameters for an adapted management of resources in line with the quality and safety of aquatic products for the consumer. Research is focused on five areas: knowledge and observation of the marine environment, laboratory experiments, seafood quality, environmental risks and technologies.
