Saumons de France, a subsidiary of the Aquaponic Management Project (AMP) group, is innovating in the face of climate change!

Faced head-on with the effects of climate change, particularly during the 2022 heatwave that significantly impacted production, the company has successfully turned this challenge into a driver for innovation. To secure its operations and improve fish welfare, Saumons de France, a subsidiary of the Aquaponic Management Project (AMP) group, has completely redesigned its farming cycle.

The key innovation: adding an onshore pre-growth stage near Isigny-sur-Mer in brackish water tanks. This intermediate phase allows for a smoother transition to the sea while avoiding fish exposure during the highest-risk summer periods.

Concrete and measurable results:

  • Significantly reduced mortality (from 50% to 7%)
  • Hardier fish
  • Improved flesh quality
  • A method now being watched by major European players in the sector

Beyond this technical innovation, Saumons de France promotes a clear vision of sustainable and responsible aquaculture: low stocking density, responsible feed based on fishery by-products and French plant proteins, and a voluntarily limited production to preserve quality.

A great spotlight on our member, demonstrating that innovation, resilience, and performance can go hand in hand to serve a more sustainable industry!
