Context
Due to their number, trawls are responsible for the largest share of fuel consumption in fishing operations in France. This large consumption also represents a major part of the turnover of fishing bosses.
Objective
Reducing trawl consumption by optimising the fishing mechanisms.
About the <strong>project </strong>
This project is a continuation of the Hydropêche project, which developed an automatic trawl optimization tool to reduce drag as much as possible. EFFICHALUT first confirms the results of Hydropêche as a reference fishing gear, then develops a trawl simulation software at sea to test the streaming of different optimized nets.
