Context
The fuel consumption of a ship depends on many parameters: wind force, currents, fishing action,… In a context of expensive diesel, fishermen wish to reduce this expenditure and reduce their impact on the environment.
Objective
Developing a tool to help fishermen reduce their fuel consumption.
About the <strong>project </strong>
For a start, the project aims at developing this decision-making support tool. Second in order, it aims at setting up training in economical navigation of fishing boats. To do this, the project partners will define the protocol for developing the econometer by integrating all the variables, and then they define the software format. The training is based on the new indicators available thanks to this new econometer.
Eventually, the developed econometer could become a standard for companies marketing them and would contribute to lowering their cost.
